Hurry Spring!

I live in Michigan, where we enjoy four distinct seasons.  We expect to have a cold, snowy Winter season.  It can be beautiful when a fresh coating of snow covers the ground and trees.  It is not, however, my favorite season.  And so far February has been especially Wintry!  I'm really ready for Spring!

I chose all Sabor papers for this project because their colors are so vibrant.  Two sheets of this floral paper were cut into 12 x 7 inch pieces.  I left a small width of the paper's label on one sheet so that I could easily line them up and tape them together on the back.  I also put a small amount of glue inside the overlapped pieces for more stability.

The leftover 12 x 5 inch pieces were trimmed to 12 x 4  and 8.5 x 4 and attached the same way.  This double panel was centered on the banner and two strips with a candy pattern was added as a border at each end.

Squares of orange paper edged with pink ink were added to back up each of the letters on the banner.

I traced my stencil letters onto the backside of this pattern with a permanent marker and cut them out.  This Sabor paper is heavyweight and the marker does not bleed through to the other side!

The green looks great on the orange squares!  They need just a little shading to really make them stand out.

Each of the letters was attached to the banner with adhesive foam squares.  The extra lift adds a little shadow and gives them even more dimension.  Did you notice the six little orange flowers near the word SPRING?  They're small but act as a photo corner would to draw attention to the blue panel.  A piece of fancy yarn as a hanger is a fun little touch and it's ready to hang on your door to welcome the season.

ZEN for me.

I chose to recycle a canvas box frame for my project.  I got this after Fall/Christmas for clearance at 90% off, so it was ninety cents!   Y...
