Chalk Paint to the Upcycle Rescue

Hello Again Friends!
Today I have an inspired upcycle using Dixie Belle Paints.   These paints are made in the USA and are the greatest quality.  We have them for you, along with brushes, sanding sponge, glazes and clear coat

We will be doing a quick canvas upcycle...
Here is the original canvas...

The canvas was very graphic and had a lot of contrast.  I needed this to be taken down a few notches as I was covering it with fabric and the base image showed through...Dixie Belle Sage Green to the rescue, soft and creating some 'tooth' too!
I used this amazing Chalk Paint as my "primer" or 'Gesso".

My original surface was shiny and glossy,
not an easy surface to adhere to...

The shiny surface was taken back to one that would grip other mediums for future fun!  Dixie Belle created the grip!

And here is the final piece with some black and white fabric, a Dollar Store Halloween frame and some creepy cloth hot glued to the canvas.

This was so easy and the impact is great!

The great thing is with the sage green paint as the basis I am ready to adapt this to plenty of other decor pieces since the fabric was adhered with hot glue. I can remove this and paint or cover it til my hearts content...what a great and fast change of scenery!

This is sure to take on new life for another holiday decor project!

ZEN for me.

I chose to recycle a canvas box frame for my project.  I got this after Fall/Christmas for clearance at 90% off, so it was ninety cents!   Y...
